Stage 1 Athletics Carnival – Thursday 10 September

Kindergarten to Year 2:
All students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 will participate in a variety of field and running events. Students will be grouped according to their House and Year level rather than age. This is a non-competitive carnival with a focus on participation, skill development and the development of House spirit. As the Carnival is a compulsory activity, no acceptance is required in the Parent Portal for this event.

Pre-Kindergarten:
We look forward to welcoming our first group of Pre-Kindergarten students to SCAS’ Stage 1 Athletics Carnival. Pre-Kindergarten students will participate in the Stage 1 Athletics Carnival for approximately 45 minutes, starting from 2.00pm and concluding by 2.45pm.

  • Wednesday Pre-Kindergarten group: Students enrolled in the Wednesday program are warmly invited to join us for the Athletics Carnival. Children will need to remain under the supervision of a parent or guardian throughout the event. Families are asked to meet the Pre-Kindergarten teachers on the front oval by 2.00pm. Once your child has finished their carnival activities, they may leave with their parent or guardian.
  • Thursday Pre-Kindergarten group: Students enrolled in the Thursday program will already be at school and will be brought to the front oval by their Pre-Kindergarten teachers at 2.00pm to join in the Athletics Carnival activities. Parents and guardians are warmly welcome to join us on the front oval to watch and support their children as they participate. Students will remain with their teachers and continue to be supervised by school staff as part of their school day.

Please ensure that your child has the following items (with names clearly marked):

  • SCAS Sports Uniform, including hat/cap, correct House shirt (where available) and suitable enclosed shoes;
  • Sunscreen (coloured zinc is allowed for the face only);
  • Good food for the day (or a canteen order – please pre-order if purchasing food from the canteen);
  • Water bottle (not in glass, please).
  • We encourage students to have a slightly larger Short Break food supply on the day, as they may be a little hungrier.
