
Kindergarten to Year 2:
All students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 will participate in a variety of field and running events. Students will be grouped according to their House and Year level rather than age. This is a non-competitive carnival with a focus on participation, skill development and the development of House spirit. As the Carnival is a compulsory activity, no acceptance is required in the Parent Portal for this event.
Pre-Kindergarten:
We look forward to welcoming our first group of Pre-Kindergarten students to SCAS’ Stage 1 Athletics Carnival. Pre-Kindergarten students will participate in the Stage 1 Athletics Carnival for approximately 45 minutes, starting from 2.00pm and concluding by 2.45pm.
Please note the date change to Thursday 10 September (Week 8)
Session 1:
11.30am to 1.00pm: Field Events and House Cheer challenge (K-2). Students will rotate between shot put, long jump, discus and an obstacle course.
1.00pm to 1.30pm: Break for afternoon tea
Session 2:
1.30pm to 2.45pm: 100m Sprint activity (in order of participation: Kindergarten, Year 1, Year 2, Pre-Kindergarten).
*2.00pm Pre-Kindergarten students will participate in an obstacle course, then close out the carnival with sprint races.
2.45pm: Students will return to their classrooms to collect their belongings, and dismissal will follow.

The Carnival will begin at 11.30am and conclude at around 2.45pm, in time for afternoon dismissal.

If extreme weather conditions occur, a cancellation notice will be issued to parents via SMS. If the Carnival is cancelled, students are required to wear their normal SCAS uniform and attend regular classes.
We are pleased to advise that our School community is very welcome to attend this event. We would ask that visitors are mindful of the pedestrian activity around SCAS at all times and please observe the designated speed limit if entering the school grounds. Parking along the Iona Avenue boundary is the preferred option. Please do not park in the Columba Cottage car park.
